2014 in review

2014 have been a great year and a year of firsts. In the beginning of January I had my first ever trip to the US (and outside Europe!), when visiting some of my dear friends who moved to the US to work a few years ago.The trip included watching the Super Bowl at my friend’s house, watching NY Rangers vs Colorado Avalanche at the Madison Square Garden, sightseeing in New York including a visit to the famous Katz's Delicatessen.During the summer of 2014, I had a super trip to Budapest with some of ...

I got a 10 (ECTS B), for the project and with it, ended my almost two yearlong ...

Malware spreading through Google Chrome Extensions

Malware spreading through Google Chrome Extensions

Today I noticed a facebook-friend added a lot of links to a bit.ly URL, while tagging alot of her friends (including me) in the post. I did some investigation on the links and found them to follow a PHP file on a webserver running on an IP address 87.98.175.xx. The html on the site, was a redirect to another domain, which tries to trick the user into installing a chrome extension named "Unlimited Watching" which actively spreads itself via your facebook contacts.Removal Instructions ...

Hyper-V server (Server-Core) Live migration - Issues and Powershell as a savour!

So - in my little lab at Microsoft, I have 2 Hyper-V hosts, one running Hyper-V Server 2012 as a Server-Core installation and the other running the full Windows Server 2012 DataCenter with the regular GUI and a Hyper-V role.I had to move one VM from one machine to the other, because of performance differences between the harddrives in each machine, as one runs a single 7200 RPM SATA disk, the other runs 2 10.000 RPM drives and SQL server weren''t happy! I set up both machines for live ...
